Thank you for taking some time to be interviewed for Trap Metal Magazine. Can you please introduce yourself to our readers who might not already know your name?
I’m jvysymbixte (pronounced jaysymbiote) a.k.a the Pennsylvania Peeler a.k.a The Berks Count
Where does the name come from? Is there a story? Or did it just sound cool?
My Name is the combination of two other names I had in the past. One being Jayscxrn and the other being symbixte. I decided to combine the 2 names together to avoid anyone else possibly having “symbixte” and I just thought jayscxrn was dumb as shit.
Where does your journey in the music industry start? Were you playing any other instruments or participating in any other creative endeavors before this one?
I Kind of just decided that I wanted to make music it’s lame asf. I started off wanting to make covers of other people’s songs. One of my good friends and collaborators first introduced himself to me on soundcloud and asked if I wanted to make a song and I just thought “fuck it let’s do it” and I had no idea what i was doing but I just went for it. Over time I started to get better at it and now we have the awful sounds that I still make.
Who gets bragging rights for helping you get to where you are now? Who are your day ones?
Three people; me, myself, and i. I didn’t really have anyone help me get to where i am but i did have tips from other friends who made music. I study alot of people i’m interested in too which helped me quite a bit. I’m still learning and have a lot of ways to go.
What do you have planned for the rest of the year? Any new albums, singles, shows, or music videos dropping in the fall?
I’m working on a new album called, Beware, the Butcher. Shit is gonna hit harder than your dad when he loses rain bet. I plan on dropping it some time this year possibly in the summer.
What is your local music scene like? What are the pros? What are the cons? And where do you see room for improvement?
Fake drill niggas who swear they from New York. Other than that ain’t shit out here. Unless you count Hispanic music.
With an interest in who your influences are. If you could go on tour with anyone in the world, who would you choose?
Most Of my idols are dead but if i had to choose someone to tour with it wouldn’t be just one person it would be a band. I would love to tour with Suicide Silence since thats the band that got me into extreme metal especially deathcore. Also one of my biggest inspirations is their old vocalist Mitch Lucker (R.i.p).
How have you had to overcome adversity? What are some of the trial and tribulations that molded you into the artists that you are now?
Growing Up I’ve always had this rage inside of me (pause). Ever since I could remember I always just had this anger that I was never completely able to deal with properly. I went through counseling and therapy which helped a lot but I also believe that the rage just came from mental issues like anxiety, depression, and paranoia and partially just shit that I went through as a child. It was always a very destructive anger that would cause me to black out and destroy shit because thats what I felt like was necessary in my mind. I regret it because I broke a lot of expensive shit but thats truly how I felt. I feel as though my music is a reflection of that.
What is the end game for you? Where do you see yourself in 20 years? What about 30 years? And where do you want to be in life, when it’s time to leave this realm
For starters i probably won’t be doing trap metal. I don’t think a 40 year old should be talking about killing people in violent ways because then there’s a bigger problem. I see myself doing other types of music and possibly owning my own business which is goal I’ve had in mind for quite a while. When its my time to kick the bucket I wanna be a meth head in reading, pa (where i’m from) talking about conspiracy theories. Seriously tho, I wanna be happy and have no regrets whatsoever.
As we wrap this up, I just want to say thank you for your time. And is there anything else you would like our readers to know?
Pleasure is all mine and I want anyone who is a fan of mine or may become one that the name i call my fans are parasites. Some people may hear that and think of something negative but I use it as way to represent the energy that I use in my music and how fans receive it kinda like a parasitic relationship.
