Two Trap Metal legends have come together to drop a fresh banger for hiphop heads & Trap Metal Heads to enjoy together. Lil Darkie and BVDLVD just dropped “Gas!”.
While he usually drops ignorant scream rap type tracks, Lil Darkie opens this single with some high energy, solid bars. Flexing and alternating his wordplay as he describes what he feels and thinks about in the acquisition and consumption of his flower and dabs. Whether he is screaming, or rapping at a normal volume. Lil Darkie’s lyrics and wordplay are what make me a fan. Sometimes in the realm of Trap Metal, artists just blurt out a bunch of gibberish and try to make it sound cool. He may act like it on social media, but that is clearly not what is going on here.
Does BVDLVD even smoke weed? Following the hook, BVDLVD goes in on some heavy trap metal vibes that he is known and loved for. But upon careful inspection of his lyrics, he doesn’t mention the Devil’s lettuce once. The only drug mentioned in his verse is a line about “Prozac”. While I love the energy, these lyrics seem to be salty. Not sure who its directed at, but he definitely got something on his mind. And someone got him mad. He sounds, appalled, but I love it. This “alpha noise, boss the f*ck up and take what is yours” type energy is what Trap Metal is all about!!!!
A refreshing banger. Satisfied both sides of my hiphop taste. I give it a solid 10 our of 10.
