1. Thank you for taking some time to be interviewed for Trap Metal Magazine. Can you please introduce yourself to our readers who might not already know your name?
- My name is Yuki Fujikura, but I go by Yuki. I’m an artist from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in all media aspects, but I value the mic more as it allows me to use my voice which I think has better room for explanation with the use of emotion to better help the person digesting better digest.
2. Where does the name come from? Is there a story? Or did it just sound cool?
- A little bit of both. I’m very into the Japanese culture and being from the United States, their way of existing with other people. It’s just a Japanese name that I came up with. I wanted something electric.
3. Where does your journey in the music industry start? Were you playing any other instruments or participating in any other creative endeavors before this one?
- It started by not wanting to work a job. It took me getting out of Highschool and being depressed about becoming an architect and just sitting in myself looking for an exit, and granted I might not be successful as an artist, but I believe this life is better suited to me.
4. Who gets bragging rights for helping you get to where you are now? Who are your day ones?
- I’d like to say everyone who’s created with me up until now and the people who shared.
5. What do you have planned for the rest of the year? Any new albums, singles, shows, or music videos dropping in the fall?
- I honestly have no clue, I just go with life. But most definitely a shit fuck of music. I plan on dropping an EP in the next upcoming months, work on some singles, shows for sure, and I’m brainstorming some ideas for music videos as we speak, but money is just in the way. As to everything else I’m looking to creating some pieces of work on canvas, but we’ll just have to see how that goes.
6. What is your local music scene like? What are the pros? What are the cons? And where do you see room for improvement?
- I don’t do scenes.
7. With an interest in who your influences are. If you could go on tour with anyone in the world, who would you choose?
- My homies, my girlfriend, Lil Peep, XXXTentacion if he performed more of his more controversial tracks such as “Suicide Pit”, and “Yung Bratz”, Ed Hardy so he could tat people there, Playboi Carti, Marilyn Manson, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Ye, Capital Steez, Travis Scott, Germs, GG Allin, Nirvana, Lil Tracy, and the creator of Cyberpunk 2077 because why not.
8. How have you had to overcome adversity? What are some of the trial and tribulations that molded you into the artists that you are now?
- I don’t dwell on things I can’t control.
9. What is the end game for you? Where do you see yourself in 20 years? What about 30 years? And where do you want to be in life, when it’s time to leave this realm.
- I think I’ve already reached that, and I don’t see myself changing my mind anytime soon. In 20-30 years I’d most likely still be doing what I am currently if nothing prohibits that. But when it comes to where I’d like to be when it’s time for death in whatever shape that may take. I feel as if I’ve reached that point in life already as well.
10. As we wrap this up, I just want to say thank you for your time. And is there anything else you would like our readers to know?
- I am Yuki Fujikura and I’m signing off.
